Hej

INSPECTION

I want to bring to your attention that Anyona School underwent a thorough inspection which also included the St. Christine section. The inspection was done by a team from the District Education Office (Kosele) on 18/06/2008.

I’m glad to inform you that the inspectors were very much delighted by the kind of work going on at the St. Christine.

They encouraged the constraction to continue. They also went through the schemes of work prepared by the teachers in charge of St. Christine. They were pleased. They suggested that in future these teachers be housed closer to the school to give them ample time to be with the pupils since the school may be a model school in the District.

On that note, I wish to encourage you to have confidence in the administration of the school and go on with your plans

A REPORT ON KISUMU ACADEMIC TOUR BY ST.CHRISTINE SCHOOL ANYONA KABONDO ON 7TH MAY 2008.

The whole day was set aside for the pupils and teachers to explore the 3rd largest city in Kenya. It was time to take classes three and four to learn more outside their school.

The main aim of this tour was to expand pupils’ knowledge of what is taught in class theoretically. It is known that a number of pupils in schools do complete their primary education without visiting major important sites like museums or even parks, this in turn affect pupils perfomance for they learn without seeing. To break this monotony, we decided to take our pupils to our nearest city of Kisumu.

It was a good experience for our pupils to visit Kisumu airport. Although the airport itself is not very big and with few flights,we had an opportunity to see an aeroplane at a close range. The pilot was friendly and he invited us directly inside just next to the plane where our pupils learnt more by asking questions.

Our next move was to Impala park at the shores of lake Victoria. Perharps this was the most exciting place for our pupils. We had an oppoturtunity to see a number of wild animals. We learnt more about impala, bush durks, ostrich, leopard, lion, hyena, tortoise, crocodile and other wild animals.

We were taken round the park by a guide and this was the best place because teachers and pupils learnt more here. We had a lunchbreak at 2.00pm for an hour at the shores of Victoria where our pupils touched the waters of the largest fresh waters lake in Africa.

Our last destination was at the museum where we learnt more about our culture, traditional foods, tools and equipment, homestead and other animals. We found the oldest tortoise in the province and a variety of snakes.

The tour was successful. We achieved our objectives as a school. The pupils now are enlightened a wide range unlike other pupils in other schools.

We as teachers of st.Christine school and anyona as awhole are happy with the progress of our pupils and the school as awhole. It is our wish that we continue to guide the pupils in the best direction.

We thank the sponsors of this tour ulla in particular and other friends in Sweden.

It is our hope that this will help pupils achieve much in their learning.

Thank you.
