Nu har vi börjat att få
leveranser av de varma tröjor vi beställt till barnen. Ett par av våra
sponsorer har hjälpt oss med detta vilket vi tackar särskilt för. Nu behöver
inte våra skolbarn frysa på de kyliga mornarna under regnperioden. När det
blåser upplevs också klassrummen som kalla av barnen även om vi nordbor
kanske tycker att det är varmt.
Dekorationen av St.
Christine Hall, vår samlingslokal i skolan, är nu klar. Det är en lokal konstnär
som har speglat lite av livet i byn till vardag och fest. Idén kommer från en
muralmålning i Skanskvarnsskolans i Stockholm ljusgård.

Hi,
The new teachers started the work today and are gonna work for two weeks for now. They hoped to work for 4weeks but their teachers have said that they dont have enough time to do that.
The new trainees have taken form class two to class four, two for each class. The reason of their coming to our school mainly because we are one of the schools around and they requested if at all they could do that and we also did that in the beginning so we had to give them a chance.
They have already thought that our school can be the best around with good kids and teachers and the teaching aids.
I've attached some copies of their picture in the mail.

Hi!
We are at the school now and everything seems fine though the worst could come later if the talks do not get us anywhere and as I can confirm form other sources, there could be some planned attacks in the Rift Valley tomorrow and that could worsen the situation.
I went to Kisumu and got the money. Kisumu was calm yesterday and nothing much happening, thou you can read from minds and it seems there are much tensions.
From today we’re gonna have the new teacher with us and we’ll have a meeting in few minutes time. The name of the new teacher is Roseline Akinyi. We looked at her credentials and the teachers agreed that the lady could be the best choice compared to the other applicants. She was teaching in Papaton Academy in Chabera and has lost her job because of the violence. The previous school had reached standard three just like ours last
year.
And the other thing is about the kitchen which might need another person since they gonna have the difficulties in managing all the kids at the right time. Have you talked to Odada about that? I’ve been approached by a lady that talked with Odada about it. I had to dispell her. I will lias with the teachers and V.A.N. so we get the right girl you've described.
Nothing's getting on with the painting in the kitchen, Im going to ask Rebecca again about it because she says nothing about it.
We are also trying to put more effort in getting the new land for the building since we can't push the neighbour because there is no proper person to contact about it. Seems we are getting another one behind V.A.N's home and will give you further details after confirming about the acerage, the price and attach a picture on the same.
I need to fix the admission of the new kids next week.

The situation is still bad and can go out of hand
Our government is trying to deny everyone information so that Kenya is not portrayed badly internationally, but the situation is still bad and can go out of hand any time. Since the new cabinet was announced it only added anger because the Vice President comes from a community related to the President. At the coast now, people have started a little war with the vice presidents community since they live next to the coast people.
The government is trying to claim that by broadcasting the real situation on the ground drives away donors as well as triggering the internal war. The president of Ghana who came to mediate is not happy and they dont say whats going on as all the meetings between the opposition leader and the president which was meant for today has been cancelled without people knowing whats taking place.
So we are really in a situation hard to tell since if at all they disagree then it will still be violence as you have heard since everybody says that the opposition should not retreat nor get ministerial posts and have no faith in this government.

Amerikanske ambassadören och USA:s vice utrikesminister har gjort oannonserat besök hos President Kibaki för "uppriktiga samtal" efter det att Kibaki tillkännagjort ministerlistan. Ghanas president har förhandlat klart och verkade tidigare idag vara nära att få igång riktiga förhandlingar mellan Odinga och Kibaki men misslyckades på eftermiddagen och har rest hem. Medlingen kommer att övertas av förre generalsekreteraren i FN Kofi Anan. Spänningen är fortsatt hög men några större våldsamheter tycks inte pågå för närvarande. Vi flyger till Kenya som planerat på söndag kväll.
